Understanding the Conroy Treatment Process
Intake
The intake process helps us to understand and determine if our treatment program is suitable for you or your loved one. We gather important information such as; drug of choice, length of use, frequency of use, previous clinical diagnosis, understand the motives for treatment, determine if there are any medical complications or needs, etc.. This is also the stage when we take the time to inform you of our services and expectations. We offer a full spectrum of services such as; intervention and detox services to help you or the loved one to get and receive quality help.
Stage 1
Admission to the Conroy Treatment Program, the participant is enrolled into what we call Stage 1. The first step primarily focuses on the stabilization of the participant, helping them to become comfortable and feel safe in their new surroundings. During this time they are active with orientation, group therapy, one on one counseling and working on administered exercises. Once the participant is finished with the stabilization period they move into our assessment and clinical & case management portion. This gives the team the ability to cultivate a specific treatment plan developed to address the specific needs of the participant. We believe that effective treatment needs to be flexible and adaptive to each participant.
Stage 2
Stage 2 is a nature transition moving into a more in-depth discovery of ones devices of addiction, developing awareness on social, biological, physiological factors / triggers, attending a full spectrum of educational sessions (as outline in the objectives handout), completing a number of administer exploration exercises, group therapy, physical exercise, nutrition, one on one counselling, peer mentoring, life skills development, motivational & self esteem coaching, 12 step meetings and learning how to developing a positive support system.
Many of our participants state that they finally given the tools which gave ability to look at the addiction / behavours in a completely new way. This stage focuses on choice, empowerment, accountability and trying new methods by challenging self to explore. Generally the participant goes through the largest growing period in this stage; going from old behavours/beliefs/patterns etc.. to trying on new learned coping strategies, behavours etc.. resulting in a s. This is one of the biggest reasons the Conroy Treatment Program is so successful because; a) small group sizes b) compassionate environment c) individualized treatment plan that is flexible d) staff that have personal addiction experience and a high level of training to accommodate the needs.
Stage 3
During all stages the participant has had the opportunity to develop awareness, create options and practice their new fundamental skill set. In this stage “fine tuning” with supportive coaching is essential. We are now looking at responses instead of reactions, preparing, developing action plans, goal setting, understanding motives and performing regular daily routines that aid to the overall health of the individual. This is the stage of “accountability” and where we learn to responsible for our actions.
In stage 3, we are also transitioning into the aftercare portion of the program. This is where the love-ones start to get actively involved in the process; we strongly believe that a system of support is the key to success! In this stage our goal is to effectively work with the approved (participants choice) support group (family, friends, loved ones) and key community support systems such as doctors, A&D services, housing, legal, 12 step community and so on.. Our aftercare portion isn’t just talk!! It’s a tangible usable plan..
